The 2010 U.S. Census has begun. The census is a count of everyone residing in the United States. All U.S. residents must be counted – both citizens and non-citizens. The U.S. Constitution requires a national census once every 10 years to count the population and determine the number of seats each state will have in the U.S. House of Representatives. The census also helps determine the amount of federal dollars that will be allotted to each state for education, health, welfare, infrastructure and more. That is $ 400 billion each year.
It is most important that each household fill out its census questionnaire. So this month, when your questionnaire arrives in the mail, please be sure to fill it out and return it.

DECEMBER 18, 4:30 p.m. & 5:15 p.m. in the Sanctuary and Courtyard.
For those of you who are new to the Holiday Program, it begins with a musical parade of the Infants, Toddlers, Pre-Scooters and Scooters in the Sanctuary at 4:30. At 5:15 the Explorers, Bloomers and Fantastics I, II & III perform a musical treat for all the families. During both performances, a Bake Sale is taking place on the Courtyard. Thursday and Friday morning, we ask parents to bring in their baked goods so we can get them ready for the Bake Sale.
Go through your garage or back bedroom and bring out artwork and artistic items that we can offer in our Silent Auction / Tag Sale. Ceramics, Frame Art, Textiles, Glass, Framed Photography and Paintings are all appropriate. Leave art in the CCC office by Friday morning if possible. (Late entries may need to be sold rather than auctioned.)
This year lunch will be on November 24 (Tuesday) beginning at approximately 11:30 a.m.
Come join our children for music, festivities and, of course, FOOD.
What do you bring? A hearty appetite and a helping hand to serve lunch. Additional details will be appearing on the classroom doors in the coming weeks.
Yes, the Center is closed Nov. 26th to celebrate Thanksgiving. We are also closed Friday Nov. 27th to recover from Thanksgiving.
MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR OUR ANNUAL AFTERNOON OF FUN, GAMES & FOOD KNOWN AS OUR HALLOWEEN CARNIVAL: OCTOBER 30, FRIDAY. 4:40 – 7:00.
An evening of family fun on the courtyard has been planned for Halloween, Friday, October 30th. The 9th Annual Halloween Carnival will be a night to play with the children as they parade in their Halloween costumes. Children from infants to 8 years of age will be invited to try their skill and luck to win prizes at carnival games. The parade will kick off the Carnival at 4:30 p.m.
You and your child may participate in any or all of the events on the courtyard by purchasing a hand stamp for $5.00. This will enable your child to play unlimited games for the evening. You may pre-pay in the Office any day prior to the Halloween Carnival. Or, you can purchase your hand stamping that night after the parade. All pre-paid “hands” will be stamp at the Carnival. Food prices will be announced as we get closer to Halloween.
Remember the fun you had over the years at our Carnival!? Some parents add to the fun by coming in costume. Others added to the fun by helping with the games. Mark your calendar now, and plan to be here!
We will need help with decorating, games and serving food. Sign-up lists will be going up on classroom doors mid-way through the month. Come help out and have some fun.
Ballet at Your School returns on Wednesday, September 2. A representative from BYS will be at our Open House to answer questions and even sign your child up for our ballet program.
It is time for our Annual Open House. We will have hors d'oeuvres on the Courtyard - simple finger food to enjoy before you go home. Come any time between 5:30 and 7:00 to get a picture of what life will be like in your child’s classroom for the coming year.
